Meet The Girls

JOLENE ~ RIP 💔
The OG milk cow. Purchased in 2020 just a few days after having her first calf, Jolene was the start of it all! She sadly passed away in May 2025 of heart failure 😞

DOLLY
Dolly is a Jersey and was purchased right after we moved onto our property in 2021. She was in her first lactation at the time and was initially purchased to be a nurse cow to baby calves. She's the sweetest girl and loves being a mom, even to calves that aren't hers. She is the best cow and as gentle as they come!

GINNY
Ginny was purchased in the summer of 2022 and bred to have a purebred jersey heifer calf for that fall, Gale. She is from the same commercial dairy as Hope & Dolly. Ginny is about as gentle and mellow as they come, we love her a lot. She is our #1 nurse cow and would much rather take care of all the baby calves than be a milk cow.

LILY
Lily was purchased in January as "exposed" to a hereford bull. She is a very large girl. She had a bull calf in April and has been turned out with Gordy since the end of June.

BRI
Bri is the 2022 daughter of Jolene. Half milking shorthorn, half red angus. Fun fact - Bri had her first calf while I was in the hospital having my first. Ha-ha! She is out in our beef herd and is bred to a Charolais bull.

BETTY
Bri is the 2023 daughter of Jolene. Half milking shorthorn, half red angus and full sister to Bri. She is out in our beef herd and is bred to a Charolais bull.

GALE
Gale is the 2023 daughter of Ginny and is purebred Jersey. Kylar showed her this last fair as a yearling heifer and did well! She is the absolute sweetest girl!

RUE ~ RIP 💔
Rue is a milking shorthorn, like Jolene and was purchased August 2024. She had Spook that October. She sadly passed away in October 2025 of gangrenous mastitis.

SODA
Soda was purchased from a Steffes Auction from Atwood Minnesota. She came from a robot dairy, very high tech stuff. She has been an extremely wonderful cow and I am so happy she is here!

MINNIE
Minnie was purchased from the same auction as Soda, in Minnesota. Get it? Minnie & Soda, haha! She was born June 2025 and will be bred this summer for a hopeful, late summer calf in 2027.

BIRDIE
Birdie was another cow purchased from a Steffes Auction, but out of Iowa. She came from a tie-stall barn but was labeled as "pack house only" because of her size. Birdie is well over 2000 Lbs but is a gentle giant. We love Big B very much!

SPOOK
Spook in the 2024 daughter of Rue. She is currently out with the beef herd and most likely will stay there. She is 1/2 Milking Shorthorn and 1/2 Simmental. These 1/2 dairy cows have made excellent cows and have raised some big calves for us!

LETTY
Letty is the 2025 daughter out of Ginny. She is 3/4 Jersey, 1/4 Milking Shorthorn. I have plans to breed her late this summer and then see where things go. She may stay, she may end up for sale.

LEANA
Leana is the 2025 daughter out of Gale (grand daughter to Ginny). She is 3/4 Jersey, 1/4 Milking Shorthorn. I have plans to breed her late this summer and then see where things go. She may stay, she may end up for sale.

KIWI
Kiwi came to us as a bottle calf from central North Dakota. She was raised on extra milk with her Holstein brother, Mango until she was weaned. My plans for Kiwi are to breed her, probably spring of 2027.
